1963年、カナダのニュー・ブランズウィック州セント・ジョンに生まれる。大学で英文学を学び始める。モントリオール州コンコーディア
大学大学院ではジェイムズ･ジョイスを研究し、1992年M.A.取得。モントリオール大学でカナダ文化における地域性をテーマに1998年博士号
取得。教育におけるコンピュータの利用について興味を持っている。目下、現代カナダ地域小説について著作をまとめつつある。趣味：ネット･サーフィン、スキューバ･ダイビング、サイクリング、楽器演奏
