Born in Kyoto. Received M.A. in Language and Culture from Osaka University (Japan) and M.A in Postcolonial Literary and Cultural Studies from University of Leeds (U.K.). Completed Ph.D. in Language and Culture at Osaka University (Japan) in 2011. Took up post at Chukyo in 2012.
