During the spring semester, two presentation contests for 2nd and 3rd year students were held in BACS with support from BACS English Society and the Office of the President of Chukyo University.
BACS Presentation Contest for Sophomore Students
The first annual BACS Presentation Contest for Sophomore Students was held in the L. S. Wing on Thursday, July 12th during the second period.
Four groups of students in 2nd year Presentation classes, supervised by Professors Pudwill and Lenihan, gave presentations on the theme of Japanese Culture. A panel of student judges, including Haruka Kinoshita, Hiromasa Yamada and Eri Aoi along with Professor Armstrong, chose 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place prizes. There was also a Students’ Choice Award, which was decided by all attending audience members.
The winners are as follows:
1st place: Yuri Abo and Mayu Kijino
2nd place: Shiori Mizutani and Masaki Makita
3rd place: Naoko Agata and Koyuki Ishikawa
4th place: Hinata Kitagawa and Toshiki Yoshioka
Students’ Choice Award: Yuri Abo and Mayu Kijino

BACS Third-Year Professional English Presentation Contest
2018 marks the third annual BACS Professional English Presentation Contest for third-year students.
Four groups of students in 3rd year Professional classes, supervised by Professors Boulanger, Greene, Lafaye and Teobesta, gave presentations on business themes.
A panel of student judges, including Professors Michael Kruse and Peter Hoare and two student judges, Haruka Kinoshita and Miyu Fujii, decided 1st, 2nd, 3rd place prizes. A Students’ Choice Award was decided by audience members.
Chukyo University President Yasumura was on hand to present the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes.

2nd place: Wako Kaminoshi and Aoi Suzuki
3rd place: Miwa Morishita
Participants’ Prize: Yukai Ohtani and Miyuki Aoki
